Cleston "C.A." Lance

Cleston "C.A." Lance, 95, of Conway passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in Conway. He was born on December 3, 1919 to the late John and Sarah Davis Lance in Baker Springs, Ark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Daphna Bailey Lance, and his second wife, Maxine Harrison Lance; two sons, three sisters; and three brothers. He is survived by two daughters, Jean (Jerry) Wilson of Conway, and Vanessa (Tim) Smith of Nashville, two sons, Ron (Jean) Lance of Bentonville, and Johnny (Kathy) Harrison of Delight; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was a licensed plumber, electrician, and heating/air conditioner contractor. He owned and operated Lance Plumbing and Heating/AC for many years in Murfreesboro. He was also a state plumbing inspector for 12 years. Cleston served his country as a 1st Lieutenant in the 433rd tc group, 70th squadron where he flew bomber and transport planes based mainly in the South Pacific during World War II. He flew the last plane from the US base in Japan after the treaty was signed and the war was over. Services will be on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, Nashville with Brother Jim Henderson officiating. Burial to follow in Restland Memorial Park in Nashville, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
