William Jennings "Pete" Bryant

WILLIAM JENNINGS "PETE" BRYANT, age 87, of North Little Rock went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015. He was born May 22, 1927 in Cabot to the late Homer Elias Bryant and Cora Travis Goss Bryant. Mr. Bryant attended Hendrix College until he was drafted into the Army during WWII. He later went on to become a policeman and worked for the North Little Rock Police Department from 1953 until 1973 and retired as a captain. He graduated from the Northwestern Traffic Institute, he was an instructor for the Arkansas Law Enforcement Academy and was a pilot. Upon his retirement, he served as chief of security for the Veterans Administration in Little Rock. He was a Border Collie Enthusiast, cattlemen, horseman, rancher and avid outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Bryant and one brother, Victor Bryant. He is survived by his sons, James Russell Bryant and his wife, Jane of Cabot, William Jeffery Bryant and his wife, Laura of Sheridan; grandchildren, Steven Poll of Michigan, Joseph and John Bryant of Sheridan, Michael Rakoski of Washington; great-grandchildren, Nathan Poll, Kailey Rakoski and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, with military honors.
