Laveta Smith

Laveta Smith, 85, of Jacksonville passed away in her home, Tuesday, January 13, 2015. She was retired after 24 years from the Arkansas State Revenue Department and was a member of Bayou Meto Baptist. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Adkins (Roy); and Sharon Caples; brother, Roger Orman; granddaughters, Stephanie Chisom (Eric) and Amanda Eaker (Jeremy); four great-grandchildren, Lindsay Connell, Whitney Wilson, Luke Wilson and Lex Eaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Stella Burns Orman; husband, Austin Smith; sister, Laverne Martindill, brother, Martin Orman and son-in-law, Griff Caples. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 N University Avenue, Little Rock, Arkansas 72207. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bayou Meto Baptist Church, 26200 Hwy 107, Jacksonville, Ark 72076. Arrangements by Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home.
