Velma Jane Norman

Velma Jane Norman, 83, of Benton passed away Monday, January 19. She was born in El Paso, Arkansas on November 28, 1931 to the late Ardie and Ida Oakley. Mrs. Norman was a member of Geyer Springs Church of Christ in Little Rock. She was employed at St. Vincent's Infirmary for 26 years. Mrs. Norman, known to many as "Polly" volunteered with tornado relief efforts at Sand Stone Church of Christ, was also active is preparing food with the care group to support a need in the church. She was a big fan of the Arkansas Travelers and St. Louis Cardinals. Mrs. Norman was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Donald Earl Norman, son; Gary Lynn Norman; eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. Norman is survived by her children; Ronald Earl Norman of Benton, Charlotte Otts of Malvern, two grandchildren; Teresa Bartlett and Jeremy Norman, four great grandchildren; Matthew Mistric, Jackson Earl Norman, Bailey Paige Bartlett, and Tucker Wayne Bartlett. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Moore's Cabot Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dale G. Brown officiating. Interment to follow at Apple Hill Cemetery in Ward. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, January, 22 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 700 N. Second, Cabot, Ark. (501) 843-5816.
