Mayoma Abraham Givens

Mayoma Abraham Givens, 99, Little Rock, Ark., took her heavenly journey to be with the Lord on January 25, 2015, with her loved ones surrounding her. She was born in Scott, Arkansas on Oct. 14, 1915 to Phennie Yates Abraham and Isaiah Abraham. She was a Deaconess, a dedicated Sunday School Teacher until her health failed, a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, and spiritual leader to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, George Givens, a son, Theodis Givens; and her siblings, 9 brothers and 3 sisters. She will be greatly missed and leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Alice M. Armstrong of Little Rock; one son, Nathaniel (Corine) Givens; two granddaughters, Kamala Colbert of Charlotte, NC and Dawn (Ricky) Hansberry of Little Rock; five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren and a host of special nieces and nephews. Funeral services scheduled on Friday, January 30, 2015, 1 p.m. at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 105 North Smothers, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Interment will follow at Rest In Peace Memorial Gardens, Hensley, Ark. Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2015, 12-5 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 South Chester St., LR (501) 372-1305.
