Duel Grant Fletcher

Duel Grant Fletcher, age 81, went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 4th, 2015 with his family by his bedside. He was born in Lake City, Arkansas on February 16, 1934 to Albert and Decia Martillie ("Tillie") Fletcher. After returning from serving his country in Korea, Duel worked for East Texas Motor Freight Company for 15 years. He then worked for Elite Lamp Company in West Memphis until his retirement. Duel was a faithful member of the West Memphis Church of Christ for 47 years. Four years ago, he moved (with his wife, Bonnie) to Cabot to be near their immediate family. He was a member of the Cabot Church of Christ. Duel enjoyed playing cards with family & friends, buying/selling/fixing lawn mowers, taking care of his lawn and planting flowers. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Thornton (and husband Ricky) and his son, Terry Fletcher (and wife Elaine). Grandchildren include Michele Marvin (and husband Nathan), Terence Thornton, Grant Fletcher and Stuart Fletcher. Great grandchildren include Dane, Maksim and Jude Marvin. He is survived by his siblings – Hilda Sisk, Norma Toddy, Betty Lou Pittman, David Fletcher and Brenda Dobbs all of Jonesboro; Quentin Fletcher and Janice Brooks of Truman, Ark.; Wendal Fletcher of Prairie Grove, Ark. and Linda Reed of Brooklyn, Ark. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Bonnie Sue Fletcher, and siblings Juanita Loggins, Calvin Fletcher and James Fletcher. Visitation will be on July 8th at 9 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. at the Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 700 North 2nd Street (501)843-5816. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Caraway Cemetery in Caraway, Ark. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a charity of the donor's choice.
