Lillie Anna Belle Rhodes

Lillie Anna Belle Rhodes, 86, of Little Rock, Ark., died Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Baptist Medical Center in North Little Rock, Ark. Mrs. Rhodes was born April 14, 1929 in Troy, Arkansas, the daughter of Edgar and Eula Belle Dean McDonald. She played semi pro and independent basketball for 17 years in the Shreveport, La. area. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H.O. "Pete" Rhodes; and sisters, Edith Bennett and Ramona Dixon. Survivors include her daughter, Jan Thorburn of Frisco, Texas; son, Johnny Rhodes and wife, Mary of North Little Rock, Ark.; grandchildren, Jason Rhodes of Denver, Colo., Ashley Kell and husband, Sammy of Bismarck, Ark., Grant Thorburn and Grayson Thorburn both of Frisco, Texas; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Rhodes will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2015 at Proctor Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Riddick Cemetery near Stephens. Bro. Jim Cross will officiate the service.
