Opal Virginia Brown Roe

"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8. Opal Virginia (Brown) Roe was born September 14, 1927. She died Monday morning, July 6, 2015. She was 87. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Hattie Brown of Lonoke; husband, Ed Roe of Lonoke; children, Elaine (Johnson) Carpenter and Jerry Johnson of Lonoke, granddaughter, Amanda Lenard of Cabot, brother, Charles Brown of Carlisle. She is survived by her children; Evelyn Lenard of Austin; Jimmie (Shelia) Johnson of Lonoke; and Jannie (Ron) Anderson of Lonoke; her grandchildren: Donny (Amanda) Lenard of Cabot; Eddy (Joanna) Carpenter of Lonoke; Jason (Leah) Johnson of Lonoke; Amber (Jeremy) May of North Little Rock; and Emily (Adam) Sloan of Fouke. Virginia leaves behind ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. There will be a visitation Thursday, July 9 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke. The funeral will be Friday, July 10th at 10 a.m. at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, followed by burial at Lonoke Cemetery. www.boydfuneralhome.net.
