Alexander Todd Ivey, 25, of Fayetteville, died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 16, 2015. He was born November 21, 1989, the son of Van and Becky Ivey. Alex earned the distinction of National Merit Scholar at Fayetteville High School, class of 2008, before attending the University of Arkansas on both a Chancellor's and Governor's scholarship. He majored in Psychology, and was fascinated by the study of the mind. He was a gifted musician, playing the baritone for the FHS marching band, and going on to play bass guitar for the Brothel Sprouts, who were named to the 2015 Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase. A die-hard fan of all things Star Wars from a very young age, we hope that his force will always be with us. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harry and Jane Ivey, his maternal grandfather, Norman Powers, and his beloved dog, Simba. He is survived by his parents, his brother, Adam Ivey, of San Francisco, his sister and brother-in-law, Allison and Randy Soeung, and their daughter, Camille, of Cave Springs, his maternal grandparents, Jim and Shirley Blackston, of Fayetteville, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, who all love and miss him deeply. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency (ARORA), 1701 Aldersgate Rd., Suite 4, Little Rock, Ark. 72205- In Memory of Alex Ivey.
