JAMES SHELTON NOWLIN, 69, of Jacksonville passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. He was born Sept. 7, 1945 in Russellville to the late Walter Ebert and Ila Mae Norris Nowlin. Mr. Nowlin served 20 years in the United States Air Force, during which, he was stationed in Alaska, Wyoming and Michigan and served a tour in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for AAFES until 2013. Mr. Nowlin enjoyed fishing, bird watching, stamp and car collecting. His step-son, James Throne took him fishing almost every Saturday. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nowlin was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Wayne Nowlin. Mr. Nowlin is survived by his step-son, James Throne, a sister, Sheryl Ann Rains, a host of nieces, nephews and friends and a special friend, Wayne Robinson. He will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to send a special Thank You to Nichole Clark of Arkansas Hospice for her love and care. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in the chapel of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with burial following at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
