David Roland Powell

David Roland Powell, Sr, 66, of McGehee, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015. David was born on November 23, 1948 to the late Drexel and Minnie Louise Powell. He graduated from U of A Little Rock in 1975 with a Juris Doctorate degree. David and Susie were the proud owners of "Hoots" in McGehee, Ark. which allowed David to truly do what he loved. He never met a stranger and enjoyed getting to know everyone who came to eat at "Hoots." David was a Loving Husband/Father and will be missed deeply by family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Drexel and Minnie Louise Powell. He is survived by his wife, Susie Powell; son, David Powell Jr. of McGehee, Ark.; daughters, Janet Law (Lucas) of Conway, Ark., Tessa Renfrow (Eric) of Monroe, La., Marke White (Justin) of McGehee, Ark. and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, Ark. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in McGehee, Ark. with Rev. Joe Head officiating. Burial will follow at McGehee Cemetery in MCGehee, Ark. Pallbearers will be Randy Allison, Jerry Bayliss, Mike Lally, Rusty Thompson, Chris Dunnahoe, Mike French, David Glosup, and Arzo French.
