Elizabeth Suzanne (Betsy) Johnston, age 46, greatly loved daughter of Don E. and Ann W. Johnston of Little Rock passed away on March 7, 2015 at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. She was a 1987 graduate of Parkview High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University and a Juris Doctor from the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. She is survived by her parents and two brothers Don E. Johnston Jr. (Wida) of Jakarta, Indonesia and Kenneth R. Johnston, M.D. of North Little Rock. She is also survived by three nieces: Rachel, a student at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, Hannah and Michelle of Jakarta and nephew Jacob (Jack) Johnston of North Little Rock. Betsy was a career public defender having served at The State of Arkansas Public Defender Commission and was currently serving as a Deputy Public Defender in Pulaski County. She loved her many pets over the years and was currently "owned" by Howie, her Great Pyrenees dog. Betsy loved music and played violin in the Baylor University Symphony Orchestra. She was passionate about Democratic Party candidates, the Chicago Cubs, Nascar racing and fantasy football. Her family expresses sincere thanks to the physicians and staff in the CCU at Baptist Health in Little Rock for their loving and professional care. Visitation will be Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas (501) 224-8300. Funeral will be at Pulaski Heights Baptist Church at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015. There will be a visitation at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
