Betty Buzbee Marion Elizabeth Helvenston

Betty Buzbee Helvenston (Marion Elizabeth), age 90 of Little Rock died Tuesday, March 10, 2015. She was born December 29, 1924 in Little Rock to her parents Marion Ardath Paul Buzbee and Alvin Stephen Buzbee. Betty lived her entire life in Little Rock and was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, R. Heber Helvenston. Betty graduated from Little Rock Central High School and attended Hendrix College. She was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Little Rock; the Arkansas Pioneers Association of Pulaski County; was an Executive Secretary of Union National Bank of Little Rock and enjoyed her needlework group as well as playing Mah Jougg for many years. Betty was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Ardath Buzbee Saunders and one niece, Beth Saunders. She is survived by her sister Patricia Buzbee Tolson of St. Louis, MO; step-daughter, Ellen Anne Tolley and her husband Steve of Perryville; grandchildren, Travis Tolley and wife Kelly, Hallie Finkbeiner and husband David; nephews, Thom Saunders of Tupelo, MS and Steve Saunders of River Forest Ill as well as great grandchildren, Ella and Carter Tolley and Haven Elizabeth and Harper Finkbeiner. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at Mt. Holly Cemetery in Little Rock. Arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home. www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.
