Truett Dean Stark

Truett Dean Stark, age 88, of Heber Springs, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015. He was born on Aug. 15, 1926 in Morganton, Ark. to George Truet and Avis Alice VanNada Stark. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kent Stark. He is survived by three brothers, Terry Stark (Sterline) of Rose Bud, Nick Stark of Rose Bud, and Scott Stark (Kathy) of Heber Springs. He was a graduate of Heber Springs High School and Arkansas State Teachers College. After serving time in the Army, he returned home and began a long teaching career in the Heber Springs School System where he mentored many students. He was also a skilled landscaper and had a wealth of knowledge about the history of Cleburne County dating back to the Native Americans that first settled there. His family enjoyed his stories of traveling to Mexico and the people he helped along the way. He was the family historian and will be greatly missed. Visitation is 2 p.m, Sunday at Olmstead Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 2 p.m., Monday at First Baptist Church with Interment following at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens.
