Versie Lee Jones

Versie Lee Jones, 80, transcended peacefully at her home in Memphis, Tenn. on Tuesday, March 11, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Jones; parents, Albert and Julia Jones; children, Phyllis Goforth and Michael Jones; and siblings, Francis Duke, Erma Hayes and Albert Jones, Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Vickie Jones; two sons, Carter Jones (Jackie) and Leon Buchanan (Ann); 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Miller, Dorothy Griffin (James), Sheba Cunningham, Alma Dennis, Joyce Petty (Pruitt), Wilma Albright, Donald Jones and Lorenzo Jones (Virginia); and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends. The family will receive friends at 10–11 a.m. with service to follow at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 20, at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, 1202 S. Schiller St., Little Rock, Ark. 72202. Services entrusted to Gillespie Funeral Home in Olive Branch, Miss.
