Robert L. Bolin, 82, of Sherwood, went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2015, following a long battle with heart disease. He was born November 21, 1932 in Fountain Hill, Arkansas to Rev. Riley and Doris Bolin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 41 years, Isabel (Becky) Bolin, three brothers and one sister. Robert retired from the Navy and served during the Bay of Pigs Cuban Crisis. He was an entrepreneur in food service and formerly owned the Hungry Man Restaurant and the Pig'n Chik. He was a member of the Sherwood First Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 64. He loved to fish, cook and work. He is survived by his wife, Freida Bolin of Sherwood; six children, Doris (Paul) Rohnke, Robert (Sandy) Bolin, Tressie Bolin, Cheryl Bolin, James (Peggy) Bolin, and Jonel (Joe) Gormley; 12 grandchildren, Cori McCall, Daniel Rohnke, Jennifer Rohnke, Mandy Green, Jenna Bolin, Brittney Houle, Ryan Bolin, Brook Bolin, Jamie Whiteaker, Joey Gormley, Josh Gormley, and Joey Forrest; 16 great-grandchildren; five siblings, Kenny Bolin, Joe Bolin, Carolyn Carter Burcheell, True Craig, and Gloria Taylor; brother-in-law, Roque Santos; and by friend, Mary Hatfield. A special thank you to Dr. Mark St Pierre and his staff and to Arkansas Hospice. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 12 noon at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills with Rev. Kenny Bolin and Rev. Terry Fortner officiating. Committal services will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
