Juanita Frances Blasingame Jackson, 86, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at home surrounded by family. Juanita was born on April 2, 1928 in Jacksonville, Ark. She was a Christian by faith and a lifelong member of Second Baptist Church of Jacksonville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Jackson; her mother, Verlin Louise Wood Blasingame; and by her maternal grandmother, Eula Ruth Wood, lovingly known as "mother" who raised Juanita from an infant. Ms. Jackson is survived by her aunt, Billie Jean Wyatt; cousins, Ron Pettey, Donna (Myles) Adams, Frances (David) Jones, Jimmy (Jean) Wood and Margaret Shillcut. She also leaves behind many other extended family members, many lifelong friends, and her Second Baptist Church Family. After attending Draughon's School of Business, Juanita began her working career as a comptometer operator for Blass Department stores. She later worked in the LR Division Office of Safeway Stores, INC. After retirement spent an additional seventeen years working for Wal-Mart before declining health forced her to again retire. Juanita enjoyed meeting people and never met a stranger. She loved to travel, go out to eat with friends, to dance, play dominos, work puzzles, or just to sit and visit. Blessed with an overabundance of energy, she was constantly going and doing, and as a selfless spirit always placed the needs of others before her own. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Raines officiating. Interment will follow in Bayou Meto Cemetery in Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Second Baptist Church, 1117 N. James Street, Jacksonville, Ark. 72076, Arkansas Hospice, or a charity of your choice. Our Family would like to express our extreme gratitude to Dr. Danetta Grisham (Baptist Springhill Medical Center) and also to Arkansas Hospice for their invaluable care. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home & Crematory (501) 982-2136. Sign online guestbook at www.mooresjacksonvillefuneralhome.com.
