ALICE ANN GRISSOM, 80, of Jacksonville, passed away on Friday, March 20. She was born on July 25, 1934 in Bluff City, Ark. to the late Loyce and Vera Johnson Starnes. Ann was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Jacksonville for over 35 years prior to joining First Baptist 10 years ago. She was a loving mother and Gammy. She was very involved with her children and grandchildren and was known as one of the sweetest people you would meet. She always had a smile on her face. Ann loved watching sports on TV and was an avid Razorback fan. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed her needlework. You would often find her with a novel in her hand and a cup of coffee by her side. She is also preceded in death by one brother, Tom Starnes, and her son-in-law, Jim Finlay. Mrs. Grissom is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bill Grissom; daughters, Susan Grissom Hicks and husband Gene, Cindy Grissom Finlay Morehead and husband Steve, and Sondra Grissom; grandchildren, Jeremy Hicks and wife Denise, Aaron Hicks, and Allison Hicks; great-grandchildren, Seth and Becca Hicks; nieces and nephews, Debbie Burch, Ellen Starnes, and Andy Starnes; as well as her church family, extended family, and many friends who loved her dearly. Funeral service will be Monday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Jacksonville. A graveside service will be Monday at 3:30 in Bluff City Cemetery, Bluff City, Ark.
