Serena Ann (Solomon) Walker, 45, of Centerton, Ark., formerly of Jesup, Iowa, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at her Arkansas home following a long illness. She was born August 15, 1969, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Russell Harley Solomon and Shirley Pauline (Brush) Solomon. She graduated from Jesup High School and attended Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. Serena worked at Wal-Mart in Independence, Iowa, before her marriage on May 30, 2008, to Kevin Michael Walker, in Jesup. They moved to Arkansas where she continued working for the company at Sam's Club corporate offices. Serena is survived by her husband Kevin Walker of Centerton; her father, Russell Solomon of Jesup; one brother, Shane (April) Solomon of Jesup. She is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley, (July 12, 2014) and one sister, Belinda Fink, (August 12, 2005). Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, Iowa, where there will be a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Visitation continues for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
