The family and friends of George I Petch are taking this opportunity to share some of the highlights of the life of our beloved father, grandfather and the friend to many of you during his 25 years in Northwest Arkansas. The funeral service for George I. Petch Sr., 74, was held Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, La., and his obituary dated Feb. 27 can be found at www.mulhearnfuneralhome.com. George was the manager of the Monte Ne at Beaver Lake on Highway 94 for many years. Many of you knew the campground as "George's Campground." It's easy to sum up George's passions as God first, family next, and business last. He was a man who lived, laughed and loved each day. He began his day by reading his Bible and although his days were long, he worked as hard as any of his younger employees. What he lacked in patience he made up with teaching. He could fix almost anything, or knew someone who could. He believed you should leave things better than you found them and he personally helped many with financial, alcohol or drug problems. In his last months with cancer, he often talked with his friends in Northwest Arkansas with the hope that he would return. He had been a licensed real estate agent with Jim Tucker Real Estate in Rogers, Ark. and held a license in both Arkansas and Louisiana. Prior to coming to Northwest Arkansas, he was with MoorMan Manufacturing as District Manager and retired after 26 years. We feel privileged to have had him as a father and as a friend. Rest assured that, although he has gone to be with his Lord, he will not be forgotten. Memorials in memory of George may be made to your favorite charity.
