Dorothy P. Wright, age 94, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, died May 9, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Wright; son, Larry Wright; three sisters, and one brother. She was a retired school teacher of Pulaski County Special School District where she taught at Jacksonville Elementary and Pinewood Elementary. She had taught at various schools throughout the USA where she had won awards for her quality of teaching, including Teacher of the Year. Students taught in the 1960's still maintain contact years later. She had served as an officer and member of the Pulaski County Retired Teachers Association. The Air Force sent the family all over the country where they met many life time friends. Their love of travel led to them crossing the country in their motorhome visiting friends throughout, attending square dancing events, or just relaxing together. They were members of several square dancing groups including The Dancing Razorbacks, and Camper Dancers. A deep love for her church and children was reflected in her passions of serving in the choir, and volunteer community outreach programs. She loved reading good books, learning new things, following politics, singing a good song, and dancing a good dance. Her sharp wit, humor, and kindness will be missed by all the family and friends who knew her. She is survived by her devoted family which includes her daughter Dianne Harvey, son-in-law Brian Harvey, daughter-in-law Sandra Wright Long, grandsons Roger Perlsen (Faith), Bruce Perlsen (Charla), Nathan Perlsen; great grandchildren Kody, Kirkland, Adrianna, and Alanna; sisters Anna , Carolyn, and brother Gaston. She also had a large extended family in the First United Methodist Church. Pall Bearers are Roger Perlsen, Bruce Perlsen, Nathan Perlsen, Kody Perlsen, Kirkland Perlsen, and Walter Perry. The family wishes to express its deepest and sincerest gratitude to the staff of Fox Ridge North Little Rock for their exemplary care and friendship.
