Edley "Eddie" Murray

Edley "Eddie" Murray, age 69, of Vilonia went to be with His Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 23, 2015. He was born August 22, 1945 in Little Rock to the late Benjamin Howard and Winnie Louise Bennett Murray. Eddie married the love of his life Deborah, on April 6, 1984 in Sherwood, Arkansas. Eddie retired at an early age from GTE Phone Company. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He loved his goats. He was known as Papa Goat around the community. Eddie had a great sense of humor and loved joking and cutting up; he loved being around kids. Eddie enjoyed deer hunting which included drinking coffee and reading the newspaper in his deer stand. Eddie was a member of Victory Baptist in Sherwood for 15 years, Hill Top Baptist Church for 12 years and for the past two years, he attended Mount Carmel Church in Vilonia. Eddie will be missed by all who knew him. Eddie is survived by his wife Deborah of Vilonia; four children Brian Murray and wife Mary of Beebe, Tamara Wright and husband Trey of North Little Rock, Otis Boggs and wife Beverly of Cabot, Tamatha Shirley and husband James of Vilonia; 13 grandchildren Kourtney, Chelsea and Haley Murray, Devin Shaw, Madison Wright, Chris and Laney Carman, Kaitlin, Jayde, Kim, Kayla, Brandon and Ryan Boggs; one great-grandchild Lily, brother Doug Murray of Sherwood; sister Linda Morris and husband Tommy of Austin, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
