Former Perry County Justice of the Peace Clarence Delford Hawkins, age 93, of Perryville, passed away, Tuesday, May 26, 2015. He was born January 16, 1922 on what is now the CAW Winrock Grass Farm in western Pulaski County. He was preceded in death by his parents James F. and Bessie Hawkins of the Harmony Community and two sisters Vollie Clark and Allie Wise. He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Helen (Lloyd) Hawkins, two children Harriett Helen Miller and Keith Douglas Hawkins plus three grandsons and three great-grandsons. He is also survived by six brothers and sister largely of the Harmony Community near Williams Junction, Clifton Hawkins, Marcelle Montgomery, Rowland Hawkins, Jeanie Bentley, Clayton Hawkins, and Jimmy Hawkins. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee in 1941 and served in the Pacific Theater throughout the war. Following the war he was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator specializing in delicate heavy lift crane operation. He also served as a Heavy Equipment Operator Instructor at the Cass Job Corp Training Center near Ozark, Arkansas toward the end of his career. He was a charter member of the Perryville Assembly of God Church and a volunteer at the Perry County Senior Center delivering Meals-on-Wheels. Celebration of Life services will be held at the Perryville Assembly of God Church on Saturday, May 30 at 10:30 a.m. with Bro. Buddy Wroten officiating followed by internment at the Harmony Baptist Cemetery east of Williams Junction. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 29, at Harris Funeral Home in Perryville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Diane Wilson Senior Center, P.O.
