Dr. A. Michael Parfitt, 85, of Hot Springs Village, Ark. passed away May 18, 2015. He was born May 10, 1930 in Nottingham, England to David Neil and Winifred (Childs) Parfitt. Dr. Parfitt was a renowned physician whose footsteps crisscrossed the globe. He shared his joy of adventure with his wife, children and grandchildren, encouraging them to explore the world both physically and intellectually. He was a scientist, a teacher, a mentor and never lost his sense of humanity. There were no short answers. His dry sense of humor, mischievous twinkle and wisdom will be deeply missed. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Dr. Elaine Parfitt of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; brother, Dr. Hugh Parfitt, Vancouver, Canada; daughter, Caroline Castelli; sons, Nigel and Jeremy Parfitt; grandchildren, Jennifer, Samantha and Lewis Parry, Michael and Brian Parfitt and four great grandchildren. Dr. Parfitt felt strongly about the need to differentiate between fractures caused by medical conditions like Brittle Bone Disease and those caused by child abuse.
