​Rosalie Colclasure Marek, 75, passed away at home surrounded by family on May 29, 2015 after a long illness. She was born on Nov. 23, 1939 in Carlisle, Ark. to Ethel and H.A. Colclasure. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Paul, of Germantown, Tenn.; daughter, Lori Marek of Cordova, Tenn.; son, Doug Marek (Leigh) of Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren Allie and Paul Marek; and many nieces and nephews. She attended Carlisle High School and was active as a cheerleader, sang in the Trio and a member of the National Honor Society. She was a Pink Lady Volunteer at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis for over 30 years where she was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2011. She was active in the Auxiliary where she served on the board and was President several times. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life. She was an avid reader, enjoyed bird watching and was a wonderful baker and cook. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hubert Colclasure; sister, Joyce Colclasure Gibson; and sister, Delcye Burden Purdue. Viewing will be Monday, June 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Schaeffer Chapel at Kingsway Christian Church in Germantown, Tenn. Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 2, 11 a.m., at the Slovak Lutheran Cemetery family plot on Highway 86 in Prairie County, Ark. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.; Church Health Center, Memphis, Tenn.; or the charity of your choice.
