Gordon R. Carter

Gordon R. Carter, age 58, of Monticello, formerly of Eudora, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born October 3, 1957 in Lake Village to the late Earl Carter and Lois Hayes Carter. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved doing for and visiting with his family. Gordon's life was farming, fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife, Ouida Lindsey Carter of Monticello; two sons, Timothy Russell Carter and wife Tobie of Monticello and John Carter and wife Whitney of Dermott; one daughter, Tonya Carter Smith and husband Jeff of Hamburg; two sisters, Mary Lois Brown of Bull Shoals and Linda Lambert of Dermott; 11 grandchildren, Cody, Eric, Alana, Dylan, Logan, Hayden, Lucas, Jace, Hannah, Kayley and Rylee; one great-grandchild, Drake; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, November 14 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
