Marjorie L. Smith

Marjorie L. Smith, age 89, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday October 8, 2015 in Fayetteville. She was born January 1, 1926 in Des Moines, Iowa to Isaac and Martha Heckathorn Battles. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Wanda Evans. Marjorie lived a wonderful life in Costa Mesa, California before coming to Fayetteville. She had Alzheimer's and dementia for a very long time and had recently had a stroke. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Doyle Smith: six daughters, Shirley Schulman and her husband Ken of Temecula, California; Belinda Trocke and her husband Ron of Northport, Florida; Patty Parker of Indio, California; Kitty Dahlin and her husband Jim of Gilbert, Arizona; Evie Gleckner of Springdale, Arkansas and Vanessa Caywood-Smith and her husband John of Elkins, Arkansas; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and many other aunts, uncles and cousins in the area. Visitation will be 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday October 11, 2015 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Comfort Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Mount Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville.
