EVELYN DURDEN, 75, of Little Rock, was born Nov. 15, 1939 in Texarkana, Ark. to Frank and Glenna Martindale and passed away on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ralph Durden and is survived by her children: Patti Durden of Childersburg, Ala., Rollin Durden (Natalie) of Cabot, and Dewayne Durden (Shannon) of Little Rock. Other survivors include her brothers, Dan Martindale (Phyllis) of Abilene, Texas and Rollin Martindale of Texarkana, Ark., as well as her grandchildren: Reed Durden (Emily) of Ward, Rance Durden of Cabot, and Kevin Durden of Little Rock and many adoptive grandchildren. Mrs. Durden was a caregiver by nature and spent her life loving and caring for others, especially children; having run Ms. Evelyn's Day Care for 35 years. She attended St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Little Rock and enjoyed yard work and all types of crafts. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock for the loving care they provided and also Dr. John Ransom and his wife, Kathy and Matt and Kelly Ransom and special friends, Janice Gordon and Diane Woolly. Visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home, 5800 West 12th Street in Little Rock on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. with a graveside service on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
