WILLIAM J. DRIVER, 93, of North Little Rock passed away on Oct. 22, 2015. He was born in Jerusalem, Ark. to Bertie Rieske and step-father Gus Rieske on Aug. 9, 1922. He was preceded in death by brother, Bob Rieske. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Virginia (Vint) Driver of North Little Rock; daughter, Lisa Nichols (Bill) of North Little Rock; son, William J. Driver Jr. (Donna) of North Little Rock; sister Margarette Hundal of Conway; grandsons, Joey Nichols (Melissa) and Chad Denham; great-granddaughter, Anna Kate Nichols; caregivers, Jacie Perrine and April Perrine; and a host of nieces and nephews. "Bill" was a decorated Marine 1st Sgt with 25 years of dedicated service. He fought in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He was a shining example to many young Marines during his tours in the South Pacific. Two of his most prestigious assignments were serving as Chief flight engineer on the Marine Commandant's plane out of Quantico, Virginia and being an original member of the famed Black Sheep Squadron. He loved his country, his family, and he loved the Marine Corps. Semper Fidelis. He was a member of Somers Avenue Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Southern Christian Home, 100 W. Harding Street, Morrilton, Ark. 72110. Funeral service will be held 9 a.m., Tuesday at Smith–North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will be held at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
