Martha Ruby Ham, 89 of Abilene, Texas, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Geyer Springs Church of Christ, 6004 West 53rd St., Little Rock, Ark. 72209. Arrangements are under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street, Abilene, Texas Burial will be at the Peppers Lake Cemetery south of DeValls Bluff. Ruby was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 24, 1926 to D.S, and Martha Kerr. Ruby lived in Little Rock for most of her life, moving to Abilene in November 2014 with her family. For over 30 years Ruby worked for Coleman Dairy in Little Rock and was a faithful member of the Geyer Springs Church of Christ. She began worshipping there in 1953. As an active member of her church, she taught Bible classes, helped with the Joy Bus Ministry, financially supported the missionaries, taught World Bible School and spent many hours working with the women's jail ministry. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, D.S. and Martha Kerr and her sister-in-law, Lafern Kerr. She is survived by her brother, David Kerr of Mabelvale, her children, Catherine Young of Little Rock, Arkansas and Elizabeth Bradley and husband Mark Bradley of Abilene; grandchildren, Michael (Kandra) Young of Springdale, Arkansas, Jennifer (Michael) Gore of Mabelvale, Arkansas, and Rebekah (Todd) Mullins and Martha (Forest) Williams, both of Abilene, Texas, as well as her great-grandchildren, Shawn and Kacie Young of Springdale, Arkansas, Leah and Emalee Gore of Mabelvale, Arkansas, Conner, Dawson, Landon and Savannah Mullins and Logan and Emma Williams, all of Abilene, Texas, and niece Annette Horn and nephews Gene and Doug Kerr and a wonderful church family and other extended family members.
