Charles Thompson

Charles Hensley "Hank" Thompson, Sr., age 87, of Floyd died September 9, 2015. Hank was a United States Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. He was a Baptist and an integral part of developing, organizing and volunteering with the Floyd Romance Fire Department. After retiring from ABF, Hank enjoyed hauling cattle. He is survived by his wife, Lou Ree Thompson; two sons, Charles H. "Chuck" Thompson, Jr. and wife, Tara of Shiloh, Illinois and Timothy Thompson and wife, Janice of Floyd; one daughter, Pam Walker of Floyd; one granddaughter, Alicia Thompson Davis and husband, Wes of Cedar Hill, Texas; three grandsons, Chad Thompson of Shiloh, Illinois, Lee Thompson of Cedar Hill, Texas and Zach Thompson of Floyd; one brother, Harold Thompson of Huntsville, Texas; three sisters, Pauline Lewis of Washington, Burlie Norton of Green Forrest, Arkansas, and Shirley Henson of Berryville, Arkansas and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Willia Thompson; two brothers, Mitchell and Dorwin Thompson and one sister, Mary Lesta Rushing. Memorials may be made to the Floyd - Romance Fire Department, 1105 Highway 31, Romance, Arkansas 72136. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at Smith - Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe. Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be at New Floyd Cemetery in Floyd, Arkansas.
