Omer Chaney

Omer Chaney, 95, of Lonsdale, went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2015. Omer served with the United States Coast Guard and was a veteran of World War II. He was a Mason and steward of CCA Workers of America. Omer was also a devoted member and deacon of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Margie Chaney, son, Henry "Hank" Michael (Regina) Chaney, Sr., daughter, Omadean "Deannie" Felts, daughter, Judy (William Michael) Vawter, daughter, Lela (Barney) Back, brother, Lynn Edward Chaney, sister, Eloise Jackson, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
