Jerry F. Schultz, 70, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in Little Rock. He was born February 2, 1945 in Pine Bluff, son of Lewis and Ruby Carey Schultz. Jerry was reared and received his early education in Watson Chapel, graduating from Watson Chapel High School. He attended Southern State University (now Southern Arkansas University) in Magnolia on a music scholarship. He became a professional soldier, joining the United States Army out of college and serving his country for nearly 40 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Mr. Schultz shared his love for music by serving several churches as organist, pianist and/or music director for many years. He was currently an organist for Providence Missionary Baptist Church. When he was not serving his country or playing music, Jerry loved to fish and create stained glass masterpieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Laverne Smith; and niece, Berniece Heard. Survivors include his wife, Linda Branch Schultz, whom he married April 10, 1976 in Pine Bluff; son, Kevin Davis of Austin, Texas; daughter, Carol Ivy of Pine Bluff; brother, Billy Schultz of Greenville, Mississippi; and two grandchildren, Thomas Culpepper of Monticello and Emily Culpepper of Arkadelphia. Funeral services will be 4:30 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend John Mark Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Branch Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
