Elsie Fuqua

Elsie Irene Fuqua, 86, of Rogers, died September 10 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. He was born June 10, 1929 in Harrisburg, Nebraska to Arlo Raymond Grubbs and Bessie Ellen Mitchell Grubbs. She moved to Rogers from Gering, Nebraska in 1942, then spent 25 years in Wink and Kermit, Texas before moving back to Arkansas. She enjoyed cooking and was a member of First Baptist Church in Rogers. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jerry Fuqua; two daughters, Catherine Garrett and Linda Pipkin; three brothers, Leonard, Arthur and Elwin Grubbs; a sister, Marie Morrison. Survivors are a son, Raymond Fuqua and wife Rosa of Wink, Texas; two sisters, Evelyn Strout and husband Geral of Rogers, June Smith of Kermit, Texas; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. A memorial service is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, September 19 at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge. Online condolences may be made at siscofuneralhome.net.
