Lucille W. Hurd

LUCILLE W. HURD, 93, of Maumelle, died peacefully on Sept. 20, 2015. She was born in Russellville to Warren and Vella Woodson. She is survived by her son, Lawrence Hurd (Trina) of Lexington, Va.; daughter, Diane Burnett (David) of Maumelle; granddaughter Jennifer Burnett; great-grandson Cameron Hurd; sister Rosemary Harrison; and brother Warren Woodson. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Beverly Chappell, Jeanette Gartner and Jan Taliaferro; and grandson James Hurd. Lucille left Russellville as a teenager and lived in California, Vermont and New York, where she began her career in insurance. She returned to Arkansas in 1968 and continued to work in the insurance field. She retired from the Arkansas Insurance Department in 1987. Lucille was a longtime member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, and in 1992 she was presented an Honorary Life Membership by the Westover Hills Presbyterian Women. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Gentiva Hospice and The Lakes at Maumelle Health and Rehabilitation for their compassionate care and support over the last year and a half.
