Dorothy Magdelene Wallace

Dorothy Magdalene Allen Wallace passed peacefully away Sunday morning, April 3rd, 2016 at the age of 89. She missed her husband so very much and although we will miss her terribly, she is happy and whole again. She was born December 12th, 1926 to Venie Jane and Lewie Vernon Allen. She married Jerrel Lee Wallace Sr. on December 6th, 1947. Although Jerrel supported the family by working at the International Shoe Company, Dorothy contributed immensely as a seamstress and gardener while motivating five heathen children to become hard working adults with the quickest house shoe in the west (and east and north and south). She was preceded in death by both of her parents, sisters, Louise, Wanda, and Patricia and brothers, Lewie (Junior), and Maurice. She is survived by her five children: Jerrel Wallace Jr. and wife Carol of Austin, Texas, Lewie Wallace and wife Beverly Ann of West Lafayette, Indiana, Beverly Kaye Reynolds of Little Rock, Vicki Shafer and husband Stephen of Searcy, and Robert Wallace and wife Cindy of Searcy. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Jeremy, Nicole, Jared, Matt, Samantha, Sarah, Catherine, Brandon, Michael and Brett, as well as 18 great-grandchildren, the youngest being Bruce Alan Wallace. Memorials may be made to Mt. Hebron Baptist Church building fund. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Mt.
