Lowell Douglas "Doug" Couch, age 69, passed away March 31, 2016 at his home in Mission, Texas. He was born February 16, 1947 in Elkins, Arkansas, the son of Oscar and Dixie (Robbins) Couch. Doug is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, James Allen Couch. Doug is survived by his wife of 20 years, Janet (Craun) Couch of Mission, Texas; his son, Bryan Gabbard and wife, Shelly of Lowell, Arkansas; two stepsons, Robert LaCore and Tammy, of Hollister, Missouri and Bradley LaCore and wife, Sherry of Hollister, Missouri; four grandchildren, Devon Gabbard of Lowell, Arkansas and Amanda, Travis and Bradley Jr. of Hollister, Missouri; two sisters, Deloris Paschal of Elkins, Arkansas and Wanda King of Springdale, Arkansas; one brother, Donald Couch and wife Andrea, of Springdale, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends. Doug was a 1965 graduate of Elkins High School in Elkins, Arkansas. He did construction work, building many homes in Arkansas and Missouri until he moved to Mission, Texas in 1993. In 2013 he retired from Bert Ogden's as the RV Service Manager. Doug enjoyed restoring old cars, trucks and John Deere Tractors, going to car shows and shopping in antique shops and flea markets. Sitting and talking to friends always made him happy. Doug served in the US Navy and was stationed on the USS Wasp Aircraft Carrier. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Beard's Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 at Beard's Chapel with Jasper Hankins officiating.
