Herbert "Herb" Hesselbein

Herbert "Herb" Warren Hesselbein, age 90, of Morrilton, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, April 10, 2016. He was born on June 13, 1925 in Oppelo, Arkansas, a son of the late William B. and Oma Warren Hesselbein. "Herb" was a loving husband, father, papaw and a generous caring man to everyone. He was the owner of Hesselbein's Auto Repair for 40 years. Shortly after retiring, he became the Conway County Veteran's Service Officer, a position he held for 12 years. His memberships and civic duties included: Past Board Member of the Conway County Board of Education; member of Morrilton Masonic Lodge #105; Board Member of St. Vincent Health Care Hospital; Member of American Legion, Post #39, Plumerville; Commander of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 13; member of Scottish Rite Mason #32, Little Rock; Constable of the City of Morrilton and Wilbourn West and East Township for 34 years; Criminal Detention Facility Review Committee. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of First Baptist Church in Oppelo. He was also preceded in death by his wife of sixty-nine years, Ella Hendrix; son, Dwayne; two brothers, Claude and Chester; and four sisters, Velma, Carolyn, Lois and Nadine. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Hight of North Little Rock; son, Ray Hesselbein of Little Rock; grandchildren, Dawnelle Fincher, and her husband, Rick of Fayetteville, and Tania Freaney of San Antonio, Texas; six great-grandsons, Garrett Oden, Alex Fincher, Joseph, Lucas, Trey, and Logan Freaney; one great-great granddaughter, Aliyah Jasmine; and brother, Charles Hesselbein (Joyce) of Benton. Funeral services will be at Harris Chapel, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, April 14, 2016, with Pastor Gene Tanner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
