Kathryn Frances Motes

Kathryn Frances Motes, 81, of Ward, died Thursday, April 14, 2016. She was born Jan. 9, 1935 in Rienzi, Miss. to the late Winford Owens and Maggie Byrd Owens. Kathryn loved to sing and witness for the Lord. She and her first husband, Sidney Moore moved to Michigan in 1954, where she raised her family. After his passing, she married Hershel Motes in 1990 and moved to Arkansas, where they started the Apostolic Revival Church in Ward. She loved her church and was very involved. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Motes was preceded in death by her husbands, Sidney Moore and Hershel Motes; daughter, Kathy Clem; son, David Moore; stepson, Kevin Motes; granddaughter, Chanda Greenway and siblings: Infant Willa Owens, Donny Owens, Jody Owens, Sevella Puckett, Frank Owens, William Owens, Archie Owens, Hayward Owens, and Giffie Cosby. Mrs. Motes is survived by her children: Theresa Seneski (Roman), Pam Motes (Paul), Anita Jackson (Johnny), and Shelly Fairless (Ernie); step children: Gloria Motes, Deloris Ellington, Gary Motes, and George Motes; siblings: Clifton Owens, Charlie Owens, Willard Owens, Inez Brooks, and Betty Puckett; grandchildren: Sheila Jones, Peggy McAfee, Carmen Taylor, Sherry Mash, Kevin Moore, Tonya Stevens, Nathan Seneski, Tara Wilson, Jonathan Motes, Anthony Motes, Mariah Zdawezyk, Brittani Bishop, and Mariea Jones; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren, family, and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Dewey McAfee and his staff for the care they provided Mrs. Motes. Visitation will be Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 4-6 p.m. at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.
