Marjorie Merrill Schwanhausser, 95, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Trinity Village Medical Center. She was born June 7, 1920 in Lynn, Massachusetts, daughter of Arthur L. and Edna Stewart Merrill. Mrs. Schwanhausser was reared and received her early education in Lynn, Massachusetts, graduating from Lynn English High School. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from the University of Massachusetts in 1942. She worked as a dietician briefly and then the Thompson Lab at General Electric in Lynn. She met Walter E. Schwanhausser, Jr. while working at Gerneral Electric and they married January 20, 1945. They shared 50 years of marriage together. Mrs. Schwanhausser enjoyed reading, especially historical novels, sewing her own clothes and several kinds of needlework. She also worked in her flower beds at the various homes, having moved 6 times in her married life. She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff and a member of United Methodist Women, Circle #5. Mrs. Schwanhausser was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Survivors include her daughters, Diana J. Schwanhausser of Alexandria, Virginia and Carol A. Luebker (Dr. Joe) of Pine Bluff; younger sister, Jean Everett of San Diego, California; two grandsons, Robert J. Luebker of Marion, Arkansas and Scott J. Luebker of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, John F. Schwanhausser (Jane) and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Lakeside United Methodist Church with Reverend Pam Estes officiating. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Village "Insuring the Future", 6400 Trinity Drive, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603 or Lakeside United Methodist Church, 1500 Olive Street, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71601.
