NIDA BEAIRD, 88, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Thurs., April 21, 2016 at Memory Care of Little Rock at Good Shepherd assisted living facility. Nida was born on June 3, 1927 to Dick and Anna Bossert in Trumann, Ark., the youngest of four daughters and big sister to one brother. She graduated from Trumann High School and shortly thereafter married her high school sweetheart, Guy Beaird, just before he joined the war effort in France during World Was II. Guy and Nida owned and operated many businesses in Northeast Arkansas during their 66 years of marriage and retired in 2012 from Guy's Discount Center, a store they operated for more than fifty years. They loved to travel and had been all over the world during their working years, and she was especially proud of the fact that she had achieved her private pilot's license. They loved boating and could be found on Lake Norfork most any Sunday throughout the summer. Nida moved to Little Rock after Guy's death in 2012 and was living at Good Shepherd Memory Care at the time of her death. Nida is survived by one daughter, Patricia Hendrix (Dennis) of Little Rock and two granddaughters, Kelli Trickey (Bart) of Conway and Heather Starnes of Little Rock, five great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter, as well as her brother, Joe Bossert of Trumann. Visitation will be Mon., April 25, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with services following at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery next to her beloved Guy. Memorials may be made to the Trumann Lions Club Sight Fund or First United Methodist Church in Trumann. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
