Joe Bob Melton

Joe Bob Melton, 88, died on August 2, 2016, after a long illness. He was born in Little Rock, Ark. on August 10, 1927. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy R. and Ophie Melton and his niece, Stacee Melton Roberson. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janette Golden Melton; daughter, Linda Hough (Chris); son, Lee Latham, daughter-in-law, Lisa Latham; grandchildren, Jordan and Kendall Hough, Daniel Latham (Emily), Graham and Brayden Latham; brother, Dr. Roy Melton (Earline); nephew, Chris Melton (Sheryl); and niece, Kelly Melton Forehand (Michael). Joe served in the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was a mechanical engineer with Reynolds Metals (now Alcoa) for 39 years. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Bon Air Baptist Church in Richmond.
