Margaret Ellen (Woodward) Morgan passed away on 11 Aug. 2016, after a life dedicated to God, her family and her country. Born to Charles Ellis Woodward and Amber Cletus (Starr) Woodward on Feb. 10, 1931, in Enola, Ark.. She was baptized into Christ at age 12 in Bayou Meto at Humphrey, Ark., and remained faithful all her days, living an example of love and service. After graduating from Humphrey High School, she enlisted into the US Army and soon met the love of her life, Corporal Albert J. Morgan. They were married three months later to begin a 65-year, 7 month marriage together. When Al retired from the Army, they settled in Jacksonville, Ark., and finished raising their two children, Larry Keith Morgan and Deborah Ann (Morgan) Whitt. As their children married, she enjoyed traveling the country with her husband, working with the church in Jacksonville, North Little Rock, Nuevo Progresso and the Four Corners area of the southwestern states. The two of them were adept at engaging people wherever they went concerning the hope of the Gospel of Christ. With grandchildren and great-grandchildren came a new love and a new mission. She loved watching the grandchildren grow up and was always happy playing with the great-grandchildren. After being a Jacksonville resident for 42 years, Margaret and Al moved to Bryan, Texas, and began worshiping with the Cavitt St Church of Christ. As her health declined, she began a battle that was punctuated with offering encouragement to her doctors and nurses and inspiration to others. Her faith and will to continue serving God, her husband and others went undiminished. She lost her second battle with leukemia and has gone on to her Sabbath rest. Preceding her in death were: her parents; sisters, Ollie Mae Woodward, Margie Marvel (Woodward) Mashburn and brother, Benny Earl Woodward. She is survived by: her husband, Albert Jackson Morgan; her Aunt Burnell (Woodward) Terry; sisters, Sherrye Nell (Woodward) Shipp and Martha Ann (Woodward) Green and her husband, Eddie Green; son, Larry and his wife, Tracy; daughter, Debbie and her husband, Earl Jr.; grandchildren and spouses, Earl and Lindsey Whitt, Kirk and Lauralee Whitt McDonald, Jason and Martha Morgan, Chad and Margaret (Whitt) Colvin, Suzannah Morrison and Alex Morrison and great-grandchildren, Emilia, Cole, Eleanor, Samantha, Adelaide, Evelyn and Margaret and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home on 15 Aug. from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on 16 Aug. at 11 a.m., at Somers Ave Church of Christ, and internment at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock.
