Richard Clark Jackson

Richard Clark Jackson died on August 16, 2016, in Little Rock, Ark. after a brief illness. He was 66. Mr. Jackson was born on August 17, 1949 in Beebe, Ark. to his parents, Otha and Ora Lee Jackson. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1971. He married Teri Daniels in 1974 after taking a position with Woodruff Electric Cooperative. The Jacksons moved to Wynne and raised their two children, Tara and Neall. In 2006, Teri passed away, Richard married Linda Ransom in 2008 and moved to Batesville, Ark. where he resided until his death. Mr. Jackson enjoyed his over 30 year career as an engineer at Woodruff until his retirement in 2006. He tended to his backyard organic garden long before that was cool. He instilled strict thermostat discipline in his children of 68 degrees in winter and 78 degrees in summer. The Arkansas Razorbacks, family vacations, and family dogs, preferably outside ones, were very important to him. Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife Linda Jackson nee Ransom of Batesville, Ark.; his daughter and son-in-law, Tara and John Burton; his son and daughter-in-law, Neall and Becca Jackson; and four grandchildren, Emmy Burton, Solomon Jackson, Rose Jackson, and Dean Jackson. He is preceded in death by his wife, Teri Jackson and his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Richard Conrad. Mr. Jackson will have visitation at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Kernodle Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2016 at Kernodle Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's Home, 10 Remington Dr, Little Rock, Ark. 72204 or Community Foundation of Cross County.
