Mary Louise Morris

Mary Louise Thomas Morris, 72, of Searcy, died Monday, August 22, 2016. She was born in West Point, Arkansas on March 18, 1944, the daughter of Leroy and Floy Thomas. Mary is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Ingle and husband Sam of Gulf Shores, Alabama and Kristi Thurmon and husband Bryan of Searcy; three grandchildren, Lauren and Hunter Ingle and Drew Thurmon; two sisters, Pat Rollins of Kensett and Barbara Martin and husband Charles of Searcy; a brother-in-law, Danny Owens of West Point; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Lelia Owens. Mary was a beloved mother and grandmother. She was also a substitute teacher and a Girl Scout leader. She graduated from West Point High School in 1962, and from Harding College in 1966. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m.on Thursday, August 25 at the Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. Graveside funeral services will be at Bethesda Cemetery south of Rose Bud, Arkansas at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
