John Parnell Faust

John Parnell Faust, 67, of Arkadelphia, Ark. died December 6, 2016. He was born May 25, 1949 in Syracuse New York to Alfred Ray and Muriel Parnell Faust. John graduated from Wichita State University with a BA and Masters in Education before accepting a position with Henderson State University in residence life. After sixteen years in several positions with HSU John was hired by Follett Corporation to manage the HSU bookstore until his retirement in 2010. John was a loving husband who enjoyed sailing, was an avid woodworker and wood carver, a reader, an overall general handyman and enjoyed working in his yard. He was a past member and president of Arkadelphia Civitan, and had been active in the Southwest College Bookstore Association. John was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Rae (Peggy) Hoegler. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 40 years Vickie Faust, his brother Don Faust, Marquette Michigan, numerous nephews and nieces, and his sisters-in-law, Terry Feaster (Pam) and Debra Shepard. A memorial visitation and celebration of his life will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
