He was born August 7, 1948 in Davenport, Florida to the late Hessie and Lenetta (Manning) Gavin Sr. Survivors include his wife, Karen (Anderson) Gavin; 10 children, Thearon Gavin Jr., Tim Gavin, Johnny Bigeleisen, Hazel Dawn, Lenetta Gavin, Brandy Branch, Tonya Head, Stephanie Mora, April McCall and David Weeks; three siblings, his aunt, Bo, 36 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
