Edmond William Lapine II Oakland, CA, - A victim of the Oakland warehouse fire that occurred Dec. 2, 2106, while attending a party, Edmond's body was recovered Dec. 4, 2016. Born Oct. 1, 1982, in Ogden, Utah, he is survived by his mother, Sami Long Kopelman of Vancouver, Wash., and father Robert Edmond Lapine of Ogden, Utah. Having lived in Park City, Utah., from 1986 through 2001, and a St. Mary of the Assumption parishioner, Edmond attended Park City Elementary, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and graduated from Salt Lake City's Judge Memorial Catholic High School in 2001. His college experiences included two years Bellevue Community College, Bellevue, Wash., one year Western State College, Gunnison, Colo., finally graduated from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash., with a BA in Liberal Arts emphasizing French and creative writing, including two months of independent study in Paris. The Edmond William Lapine II Scholarship has been established at The Evergreen State College, Olympia, Wash.
