Marion Ruth Armstrong

MARION RUTH ARMSTRONG, 92, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, in Little Rock after a brief illness. "Miss Ruth" was born in Pawtucket, R.I., on August 21, 1924, the daughter of William D. and Nellie E. (Spencer) Armstrong. She worked in the banking business in Little Rock for many years before her retirement. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a long-time worker in the church nursery, where she touched the lives of many children and their parents with her kindness and generosity. She enjoyed giving to others, even if that meant she herself sometimes went without. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her two older sisters, Mary and Betty. Survivors include two nieces; and a host of friends. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at the Immanuel Baptist Church chapel.
