Janette McClure Lundy

Janette McClure Lundy died the morning of her 92nd birthday on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at her home in Elm Springs. She was born in Marvell, Arkansas, to Emmett Guy and Mamie Patterson Lumpkin. Janette was a member of Westside Church of Christ and a faithful Christian since her teens. She loved attending church services, and hearing the gospel of Christ preached in boldness and simplicity. She unselfishly helped fellow Christians, family, and friends, who were in need. She had a true servant heart and was devoted to her family. She enjoyed fishing at the McClure pond, making picture scrapbooks, and tracking and tracing family history so other family members could know their ancestry. Janette retired in 1989 from Kaiser Permanente. She and her first husband, Tommy, then returned to live on their family farm. He preceded her in death in 2001. She married Bill Lundy in 2009 and they made their home in Elm Springs. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Lumpkin and Marvin Lumpkin. In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived by three sons, Curtis McClure and wife Aldea of Springdale, Richard McClure of Grass Valley, California, Glendol McClure and wife Rowena of Antioch, California; four brothers, Ray Lumpkin of Richland Hills, Texas, Bud Lumpkin of Paragould, Lynn Lumpkin of Marvell, Jake Lumpkin of West Helena; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Phillips Cemetery.
